1 lb (450g) ground beef
1 tbsp Fire Island seasoning
1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
1 egg
1 tbsp soy sauce
4 eggs (for frying)
4 cups cooked white rice
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp flour
1 1/2 cups beef broth
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp Fire Island seasoning (for gravy)
2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
Prepare the Patties: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, Fire Island seasoning, panko breadcrumbs, egg, and soy sauce. Form the mixture into 4 patties.
Cook the Patties: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes per side, or until fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
Make the Gravy: In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute. Slowly add the beef broth, whisking constantly, until the gravy thickens. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and Fire Island seasoning.
Fry the Eggs: In a separate skillet, fry the eggs to your desired doneness.
Assemble the Loco Moco: Place a scoop of rice on each plate. Top with a beef patty, a fried egg, and a generous ladle of spicy gravy.
Garnish: Sprinkle with chopped green onions and serve hot.
