Golden Sunset Chicken Shawarma Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs (or breasts)

  • ½ cup plain yogurt

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil

  • 2 tablespoons Golden Sunset Seasoning (Oak City Spice Blends)

  • Juice of 1 lemon

  • Salt to taste

For Serving:

  • Pita bread or wraps

  • Sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions

  • Lettuce or shredded cabbage

  • Garlic sauce or tahini sauce

Instructions:

1.       In a bowl, whisk together yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice, Golden Sunset seasoning, and salt.

2.       Add chicken to the marinade, coating evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, ideally overnight.

3.       Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook chicken until golden brown and fully cooked, about 5-6 minutes per side.

4.       Slice cooked chicken into thin strips.

5.       Serve chicken shawarma on warmed pita or wraps, topped with tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, lettuce, and a generous drizzle of garlic or tahini sauce.
