Saxon Silk Flavored Cabbage Rolls

Saxon Silk Flavored Cabbage Rolls

  • For the Filling:

  • 1 lb ground beef that has been cooked with fat drained off

  • 1/2 cup cooked rice

  • 1 onion, finely chopped

  • 1 egg

  • 2 tablespoons Saxon Silk seasoning

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • For the Rolls:

  • 1 head of cabbage

  • 1 can (14 oz) tomato sauce

  • 1 cup water

  • Sour cream, for serving

  1. Prepare Cabbage Leaves: Boil a pot of water. Core the cabbage and carefully peel off the leaves, blanching them in boiling water for a few minutes until pliable. Drain and set aside.

  2. Make the Filling: In a bowl, mix together ground beef, cooked rice, onion, egg, Saxon Silk seasoning, salt, and pepper.

  3. Fill and Roll: Place a spoonful of filling on each cabbage leaf. Roll up, tucking in the sides. Place rolls seam-side down in a baking dish.

  4. Cook: Pour tomato sauce and water over the rolls. Cover with foil and bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 1-1.5 hours

  5. Serve: Serve cabbage rolls
