Medieval Sizzle Sausage
1 lb ground pork
1 lb ground beef
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1/4 cup finely chopped fresh parsley
1/4 cup red wine (optional, can be replaced with 1/4 cup beef or chicken broth)
1/4 cup breadcrumbs
2 tsp honey
2 tsp olive oil
Natural sausage casings (optional)
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, ground beef, Sunrise Sizzle spice blend, onion, and parsley. Mix well to evenly distribute the spices and ingredients.
If using red wine, mix it with the honey to create a sweet and flavorful liquid. If not using wine, mix the broth and honey. Pour the liquid mixture into the ground meat mixture, making sure to blend well.
Gradually add the breadcrumbs to the mixture, stirring until well combined. The breadcrumbs help bind the ingredients together and give the sausages a more firm texture.
If using sausage casings, stuff the mixture into the casings, twisting to create individual sausages. If not using casings, form the mixture into small patties.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the sausages or patties for 5-6 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and golden brown.
