Sweet Yemeni Apple Tarts

  • 1/2 package puff pastry (1 sheet), thawed, each cut into 6 pieces

  • 1 apple, cored, sliced very thin, and into pieces

  • 1 tablespoon Honey

  • Powdered sugar, caramel sauce, and/or whipped cream, for serving, optional

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

  2. Put parchment paper on your baking tray and set aside

  3. Heat the honey and the No. 35 Sweet Yemeni spice blend in the microwave for 30 seconds.

  4. Add spiced honey to apples. Stir to combine. Allow to sit for a few minutes.

  5. Arrange apple slices on the parchment-lined tray in 6 spaces.

  6. Please a piece of puff pastry on top of the apples.

  7. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes, or until pastry is puffed and golden brown.

  8. Remove from the pan immediately and place on a serving platter. Serve plain, with caramel topping, whipped cream, and/or a sprinkling of powdered sugar.
