Tar Heel Tang BBQ Sauce

  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce (like Tabasco, adjust to taste)

  • 1 teaspoon ketchup (optional for a touch of sweetness)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine all ingredients.

  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.

  3. Reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes.

  4. Remove from heat and allow to cool.

  5. Transfer to an airtight bottle or jar and store in the refrigerator. Shake well before using. Great for pulled pork sandwiches!
