Ingredients:
1 lb (450g) minced beef
1 large onion, finely chopped
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon Wilde Garlek seasoning
Shortcrust or flaky pastry (homemade or store-bought)
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Filling: In a large bowl, combine the minced beef, finely chopped onion, salt, and Wilde Garlek seasoning. Mix well to ensure the seasoning is evenly distributed.
2. Roll the Pastry: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pastry dough to about 1/8 inch thickness. Cut the dough into large circles (about 6 inches in diameter).
3. Fill the Pastry: Place a generous spoonful of the beef mixture in the center of each pastry circle.
4. Seal the Bridies: Brush the edges of the pastry with beaten egg, fold the dough over the filling to form a semi-circle, and press the edges together to seal. You can crimp the edges with a fork for a decorative touch.
5. Bake: Place the Bridies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with the remaining beaten egg. Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and crisp.
