Potato Gratin with Baden-Württemberg

Potato Gratin

Ingredients:

  • 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1/2 cup milk

  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard

  • 1 tsp Baden-Württemberg seasoning blend

  • 1/4 tsp freshly grated nutmeg

  • 1 cup grated Gruyere or Emmental cheese

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1 tbsp butter, for greasing the dish

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with butter.

  2. In a small saucepan, heat the cream, milk, Dijon mustard, Baden-Württemberg seasoning blend, and nutmeg over medium heat until warm. Do not boil.

  3. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the prepared baking dish. Season with salt and pepper.

  4. Pour half of the warm cream mixture over the potatoes and sprinkle with half of the grated cheese.

  5. Repeat with the remaining potatoes, cream mixture, and cheese.

  6. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.

  7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the potatoes are tender.

  8. Let cool slightly before serving.
