Root Vegetable Stew


  • 2 Parsnips, peeled and diced

  • 2 Carrots, peeled and diced

  • 2 Turnips, peeled and diced

  • 1 Onion, finely chopped

  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced

  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter

  • 4 cups Chicken or Vegetable broth

  • Sea Salt and Pepper, to taste


  • In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat.

  • Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot and sauté until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.

  • Add the diced parsnips, carrots, and turnips to the pot and sauté for another 5-10 minutes.

  • Add the broth and No. 75 Barazki Zopa Spice Blend, and bring to a boil.

  • Reduce the heat and simmer the stew for 30-40 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.

  • Serve the stew hot, garnished with chopped fresh herbs if desired.
